Ignatius Piazza: Proud To Be An American
To hear a foreigner speak of America and its 'infatuation' with firearms makes a person think that America is pro-guns, not stupidly pro-gun control. Now don't get me wrong, I love Europe. The trips I've made through Europe were magical and wonderful, and the people were fantastic. But to hear them say that America's acceptance of guns and lack of gun control is the reason for school shootings, I want to laugh, and sometimes scream. So I was very interested when I read an article published in El Pais Semenal, a Castilian periodical which was pro-gun!
The writer had visited Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, the residential community anchored around a shooting school near Las Vegas, Nevada. Front Sight, or Gun Town, as the Spanish writer called it, can seem scary at first, but Dr. Ignatius Piazza, Front Sight's director and founder, alleviates all the fear. The writer was somewhat surprised to see a 9-year-old boy in the course he was taking and so asked Dr. Piazza, "If children like shooting, will they kill? Doesn't this worry you?"
The writer explains Dr. Ignatius Piazza's response: "Dr. Piazza's answer was emphatically "No." The doctor knows that the best and quickest defense against a killer is a law-abiding, armed, and trained citizen, even if that citizen is a 9-year old boy. He has no patience with people who are paranoid about the freedom to sell arms. To promote his city, he is starting to build a Personalities Pavilion. In this pavilion there will be luxury suites available for Hollywood stars, singers, artists, politicians, etc."
Dr. Ignatius Piazza is adamantly supportive of Front Sight Firearms Training, but also any firearms training. Dr. Piazza feels that all Americans should receive gun training and thereby keep themselves and their families safe. Anyone with reservations about the Second Amendment must visit Front Sight and have the "Front Sight Experience".
